 This Recording was made by the Turtle Team for Challenge Classics. We are proud and very happy with the winning of the Edison Luister Publieksprijs, which was handed out to Rudolf Koelman for his extraordinary recording, with the Netherlands Symphony Orchestra and conductor Jan Willem de Vriend, of the Violin Concertos nos. 1 & 2 of Niccolò Paganini.
The Award was handed out on the 18th of June, in the Edison Classical Award-Gala which took place in the magnificent Kurhaus in Scheveningen and was broadcasted on National Dutch television (Ned 2) by the AVRO. Because this award was chosen by the public, everyone had been able to vote themselves for their favorite Classical Album of the year 2009 out of a selection made by the Jury of the Edison Stichting and classical Dutch magazine 'Luister'. The album was recorded live, which makes it an even more incredible performance. |

| Peter Masseurs & Friends |
 Turtle Records and Peter Masseurs have signed the contract for an album to be released later this year.
After a long career as solo trumpet player of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Peter has decided to record a collection of musical pieces that he personally is particulary fond of. Both contemporary works for trumpet and viola, a rare combination, and traditional pieces with piano, but also a 'Jazzy' version of Jolivet's 2nd concerto for trumpet with a heavy 'Bebop' contrabas part in the last movement. The first recordings have taken place earlier this month and the results are staggering. As always the recording is done in the highest resolution and full surround format, and we are confident this will be another great addition to our catalogue! We are very proud to have the privelage of working with Peter Masseurs who is one of the greatest in his discipline in the world. |

 Because so many of our fans asked for it, we produced a High Quality CD version of the BUZZ BROS BAND's "The Same New Story" Live concert 2005.
We also added a new DVD version in the package with NTSC formatting and DTS 96/24 Surround audio and DOLBY DIGITAL stereo, so it can be played on virtually every DVD player around. So far "The Same New Story" DVD was only in PAL available, so now also our American and Japanese fans can enjoy this wonderful concert registration. The CD+DVD can be purchased in our web store. |

| Yoram Ish-Hurwitz's Iberia |
 Pianist Yoram Ish-Hurwitz, who has recorded the full Années de Pèlerinage by Franz Liszt on three CD's with Turtle Records, has started a new project around the Iberia Suite by the Spanish composer Isaac Albéniz. Apart from two CD's it includes a concert tour with the complete cycle. Iberia consists of twelve musical impressions of Spain, divided into four books. For the tour Ish-Hurwitz has sought a form that increases the accessibility of the music without making any concessions to its contents. With this purpose in mind he sets off to the south of Spain where he searches for the backgrounds and sources of inspiration of the music. His quest will be filmed by the young and talented film maker Jenneke Boeijink. The result will be shown in parts during the recital alternating with the music, adding a new dimension to the concert experience: the audience is given a look into Ish-Hurwitz's way of thinking and his renderings are put into an entirely different light. The whole will be directed by Carel Alphenaar. Both the tour and the CD's are scheduled for early 2009. This year commemorates the hundredth anniversary of the composer's death. Yoram Ish-Hurwitz's previous project around the Années de Pèlerinage has been a huge success with many concerts in the Netherlands, several European countries and the U.S. For more information see ish-hurwitz.com iberia (Dutch only for the moment).  Buzz Bros Band - The Same New StoryTurtle Records is proud to present its first commercial dvd with music of the Buzz Bros Band, filmed live in front of a studio audience in an old factory in Utrecht, the Netherlands, in the spring of 2005. The 24/96 DTS dvd contains both surround and stereo sound. The film was directed by Peter Blom. Added to the program of 10 compositions are background interviews and a short film about the paintings of artist Francisca Kalmijn that were directly inspired by the Buzz Bros music. As on their Turtle Records recording 'Castle in the air' (TRSA 0019) the quartet plays improvised instrumental music for guitars, electric sitar and bouzouki, Fender Rhodes and other keyboards, bass and drums, the latter played only with brushes. The chart is determined by radio listeners submitting their votes through the internet at Tros Klassiek http://www.trosklassiek.nl (click 'Klassieke top 10') after hearing the cd. The Liszt cd is the first of three surround super audio cd's to be released by Turtle with the complete piano cycle Années de Pélerinage performed by the Dutch-Israeli pianist. A concert tour with the same repertory will be held during the 2004/2005 concert season in major halls in the Netherlands like Vredenburg Utrecht, amongst others. Violinist Sandrine Cantoreggi just released her second album on Turtle Records (TRSA 0018). In the week before Christmas you can find her SACD with music by Pietro Antonio Locatelli (1695-1764). Backed up by the Latvian Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra, directed by Carlo Jans, Sandrine recorded Concerto 11, 5 & 12 of 'L'Arte del Violino, opera omnia III (1733)'.
